Obituary

Laconia-Norma E. Blackey-Lyman-Ulery, 75, died Saturday evening, May 6, 2006 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a brief Illness.

Norma was born in North Troy, Vermont on May 17, 1930 where she was raised. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Amy (Andrews) Kelley. She had been a resident of Laconia for most of her life.

Norma and her first husband Carlton Blackey founded the Paugus Diner in Laconia where she continued to work until her retirement in 1998.

Norma was predeceased by two husbands, Carlton Blackey in 1982, and William Lyman in 1990.

Norma is survived by one son, Paul R. Blackey of Channelview, TX, three daughters, Linda J. Ordway of Hernando, FL, Bonnie L. Noyes of Laconia, and Kathleen G. Clark of Sharon, VT, one brother Celon Kelley of Gilmanton, two sisters, Phyllis “Polly” Drury and Eloise “Peachy” Burke both of Laconia. 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive Norma.

A visiting hour was held on Tuesday, May 9th, 2006 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Funeral Services followed the visiting hour at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Home. Rev. Richard A. Mowery, pastor of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 115 Court Street, Laconia officiated. Family and friends were invited to attend. Burial took place in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, 1350 Union Avenue, Laconia.
