MOM’S OBITUARY

Gula Rose (Potter) Giorgio entered into the kingdom of Heaven on May 13, 2022 at the age of 90. “Ellie”, as she was known her entire life, was born on August 23, 1931 to Frank and Helen Potter in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was the widow of Joseph F. Giorgio, Sr.
A woman of short stature with a big heart, Ellie instilled in her children the importance of faith in God, finding your passions in life and charity to others. She was best known for her Italian cuisine, especially her meatballs. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her ten children who survive her: Patty Ann Giorgio of Worcester, MA, Sheila Parizo (Cliff) of Derby, CT, Joseph F. Giorgio, Jr. of Worcester, Domenico Giorgio (Kathy) of Bloomsburg, PA, Tony Fichera (Annie) of Oregon, Nancy Giorgio-Kupiec (Mark) of Brimfield, MA, Philip Giorgio of Bay City, MI, Frank Giorgio (Terry) of Southbridge, MA, David Giorgio (Joan) of Millbury, MA and Alan Giorgio of Worcester, MA. Her memory will live on in her children, her 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her sister Gayle Pretty of Arizona, her brother-in-law Nicola Giorgio (Barbara) of FL and Sister-in-Law Lucy Hopkins of Worcester, MA. and countless nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is pre-deceased by her sister, Pat St. Germain, brothers Frank “Buddy” Potter and Harold Potter, several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at graveside in the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Elks National Foundation – Scholarship fund at www.elks.org.
