Obituary

West Boylston: Rita M. (Brown) Lonnroth, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19 at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 71 years, Robert Lonnroth; 3 daughters, and their husbands-Pamela and David Aieta of Plymouth, Cynthia and Paul Hennessey of West Boylston, and Janice and Jay Engle of Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister Helen Rankin, of Maine. She was predeceased by siblings Charlotte (Brown) Lonnroth, Gordon, and Lloyd Brown.

Rita was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Charles G. Brown and Evelyn (Pierce) (Brown) Leard. She attended Commerce High School and worked as a waitress in West Boylston, Worcester, and Holden for many years. She was a member of Greendale People’s Church and the Couple’s Club. An avid reader, she enjoyed long walks, camping, boating, baking, and spending time with her family and many friends. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thad Schilling and his team for their compassionate care at Reliant Medical and VNA Care Network and Hospice of Worcester.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, May 23 from 11 a.m- 12 noon in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA. 01605. The funeral service and burial will be private.
