Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Diane L. (Desroches) Toussaint, 70, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, May 13, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 18, 1952, a beloved daughter of the late George E. Desroches and Henrietta E. (Fournier) Rivard. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School and had lived in Chicopee and South Hadley before moving to Springfield in 1990. She was employed as a Medical Transcriptionist at Mercy hospital the later as a receptionist at New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS) in Springfield. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. During her leisure time, she enjoyed boating and spending time at Mitch's Marina in South Hadley. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Allen J. Toussaint. They were married on July 9, 1993 in Springfield and were blessed with over 28 years of happiness together. She also leaves her five loving children, Vicky L. Auclair of West Springfield, Renee Marie Auclair of Enfield, CT, Jeremy A. Toussaint of Wilbraham, Keith R. Gallagher and his wife, Paula, of West Pawlet, VT and Adam J. Toussaint of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren, Zachary Rios, Sophia Toussaint and Bailey, Marlee and Chaderson Gallagher; her three dear brothers, David Desroches and his wife, Cheryl, and Daniel Desroches, all of Chicopee and Donald Desroches and his partner, Cheryl, of Belmont, NH; her six dear sisters in law, Irene Remillard of Chicopee, Diane Crafsic and her husband, David, of Westfield, Nancy D'Amours of Province of Quebec, Canada, Brenda Toussaint of Ware, Denise Toussaint of Chicopee and Ghislaine Toussaint and her partner, John Seda, of Westfield; her dear brother in law, Serge J. Leclerc of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two dear sisters in law, Linda Toussaint and Camilla Leclerc; and her three dear brothers in law, Clarence, Elmer and Gordon Toussaint. Her Relatives and Friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration Service at 6:30 p.m. at the at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
