James H. Magnett, Jr., 77, of New Bedford died May 15, 2022 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth.
He was the husband of Gloria J. (Dias) Magnett.
Born in Acushnet, the son of the late James and Hazel (Rosario) Magnett, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed as a longshoreman and construction worker for many years.
He was an avid New York Yankees, San Francisco 49ers and Miami Heat fan.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jemal Magnett of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Josephine Lee of Sacramento, CA; many cousins including Pam Mendes of Boston; 3 grandchildren, Shyla Magnett, Jaden Magnett and Carolyn Magnett; a great-granddaughter, Vyna Rose Vasquez and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Peter Antone, John Antone and Terry Magnett.
His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 19th from 4-6 PM followed by his Funeral Service at 6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
