Obituary

CHICOPEE – Michael J. Feeley, 65, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, May 15, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Worcester on February 26, 1957, a beloved son of the late Richard J. Feeley, Sr. and Teresa N. (Morris) Feeley. At the age of three, he and his family moved to Springfield and later Agawam and he graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1974. He moved to Chicopee in 1982 and later moved to Aldenville in 1989 where he lived the remainder of his life. He had furthered his education and attended Western New England College in Springfield and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He was employed as a Network Administrator/Senior Systems Programmer at Friendly’s Ice Cream and later a Senior Network Manager at Bay Path University in Longmeadow. He later worked as the IT Director for the Agawam Public Schools. He was very proud of the work that he had accomplished while working for Bay Path and the Agawam Public School System. During his leisure time, he enjoyed cycling, Sunday hurling matches on the deck, playing basketball, reading many novels including his favorites of Shakespeare and Emily Dickinson and seeing many Broadway musicals. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Cynthia J. (Provost) Feeley. They were married on October 30, 1982 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 39 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving sons, Michael W. Feeley and his wife, Louise, of Suffield, CT and Patrick M. Feeley and his partner, Victoria Langlois, and her son, Michael’s good friend, Graham R. Langlois, all of Ludlow; his cherished grandson, Harrison T. Feeley; his seven dear brothers and sisters, Maryellen Chiariello and her husband, Len, of Westwood, Richard Feeley, Jr. and his wife, Ellen, of Feeding Hills, Noreen Feeley Perreault of Woodbury, CT, Patricia Feeley of West Roxbury, James Feeley and his wife, Pamela, and Thomas Feeley and his wife, Carol, all of Springfield, and Timothy Feeley and his wife, Anna, of West Springfield; his dear brother in law, Francis Provost and his wife, Audrey, of Belchertown; his three dear sisters in law, Maureen Munson, Carmina Provost and Joan Provost, all of Chicopee; his dear nephew and godson, Richard J. Feeley III of Enfield, CT; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three dear brothers in law, James Provost, Donald Munson and Kenneth Provost. His Family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Chestnut Hill for the exceptional care they provided to Michael over the past several months. His Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Pine Nook Cemetery, 310 River Road, South Deerfield, MA 01373.
