Jusino (Miguel Monteiro, 92 years old) of Brockton died May 9th at home, peacefully and surrounded by his family. He was the loving widower of Justina (Guilhermina Gonçalves Monteiro), cherished friend and a charismatic figure in Fogo who lived an extraordinary life.
He was born in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde, son of the late João De Pina and Maria Monteiro. Jusino was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and loved playing cards, chatting and socializing with family and friends and was well known for being a blacksmith and metal manufacturer. He was a very giving person that was always ready to help those in need. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and was a well-known joke teller. He was someone that lived life to the fullest. Jusino will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, a proud grandfather, a distinguished gentleman, and a superb humorist.
He is survived by daughters, Maria Luísa Barbosa Vicente Monteiro (Lilica), Maria Eugenia Correia (Djena), Sofia Monteiro De Pina (Sofia) and Maria Madalena Monteiro Galvao (Tão), Maria José De Pina Monteiro da Rosa (Maria José), Natália De Pina Monteiro (Zázá), Armanda da Luz de Barros (Manina) of Cabo Verde. Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday May 27th at 9 AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main Street Brockton at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Visitation in the Funeral Home Thursday May 26th from 5-9 PM.
