Obituary

In Taunton, Rosemary Borden, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Born in Fall River, MA. the daughter of the late Thomas T. Clifford and Margaret M. (Clemmey) Clifford and wife of the late David G. Borden of North Dighton, MA.
She was a lifelong resident of North Dighton MA and a 1972 graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. After graduating from the Fall River Diploma School of Nursing, she worked at Truesdale Hospital for several years before channeling her empathy, compassion, and resilience into service as a school nurse in Dighton – a job she loved – for more than 20 years.
Rosie was happy spending time at the shore in Myrtle Beach and on the cape with family, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events and welcoming visits from her three special cardinals.
A fan of the Hallmark Channel and an active advocate for literacy, she loved giving books to family, friends, and acquaintances – especially children. In her world, no holiday went uncelebrated, no achievement went unnoticed, and no friend went uncomforted.
Rosie cherished her late Havanese, Max, virtual Sunday dinners with her daughters, longstanding friendships nurtured at Dighton Elementary School, breakfast dates with close friends, and warm memories of travels with David.
She is survived and sadly missed by her children; Caryn M. Borden of Fall River, Cheryl A. Borden of Franklin, TN, and Christopher J. Borden and his wife Kay Bassen, of Franklin, MA; her grandchildren, Malcolm and Matilda Borden; dozens of cousins and other family members; countless friends; and thousands of schoolchildren who will remember her as Mrs. Borden, the kind school nurse who made a lasting difference in their lives.
