Florence (D’Orsi) Lucia passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 8th. She was 102 years old. A life-long Medford resident, Florence was the daughter of the late Pietro and Catherine D’Orsi.
Florence worked in food service throughout her life. She worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Medford High School and even operated her own catering business. Devoted to her family and friends, she lived a long and happy life.
Florence was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Lucia who passed away in 2009. She leaves her devoted son, Stephen Lucia, of Medford. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Florence also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17th from 6 – 8 PM. On Wednesday morning, May 18th at 11 AM a funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
