Mary Agnes (Short) Padgett, 97 of Franklin, died May 11 in Cedar Gardens Nursing Home in Franklin. She was the wife of the late John M. Padgett, Jr. who died in 2014.
Born in Boston, April 10,1925, the daughter of the late George T. and Anastatia A. (Mackey) Short, Mrs. Padgett was raised in Jamacia Plain and had lived in Roslindale for over 65 years before coming to Medway where she lived until recently moving to Franklin.
Mary had been a salesclerk at the former Jordan Marsh Store in Boston for many years.
Mary enjoyed boating with her husband , going to the beach and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Marsha Gortze and her husband Warren of Marston Mills, John Padgett and his wife Linda of Hyde Park and Carol Hopson and her husband Robert of Medway.
She was the sister of the late Claire and Robert Short.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly, Coreen, Krissanne, Brandy, Anthony and Carla and her great-grandchildren, Michael, Alexis, Tyler, Caleb and Sofia.
Her private graveside services will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury on Monday, May 16.
