NEW BEDFORD — C. George St. Pierre, 88, of Acushnet, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, in New Bedford after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Chase) St. Pierre.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Alfred and Florida (Farland) St. Pierre. Mr. St. Pierre worked as a loom fixer most of his life in area textile mills until his retirement. He was an avid bowler. His passion was fishing and sitting by the ocean. Mr. St. Pierre loved to dance and spent many weekends dancing with his senior friends.
Mr. St. Pierre is survived by three stepdaughters, Doris Lainey, Janice Lariviere and Delores Richard and three stepsons, Raymond, Richard and Roger Bourgeois. He is survived by many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dearest friend and companion Juliette Gonsalves. He was the stepfather of the late Ronald Bourgeois and brother of the late Joseph and Alfred St. Pierre.
His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 8, in St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth St., So. Dartmouth at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
