Khamphanh Phommachack, 73 of Lowell, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Thongsa Chittavong, whom he met in America in the early 1980’s.
He was born on March 1, 1949 in Pakse, Laos, where he was raised before coming to the United States in 1981, settling in Lowell. He then met and married the love of his life, Thongsa.
His proudest achievement was working at Medtronic in Beverly and was exceptionally proud of his work manufacturing medical equipment. His family owned Mickey’s Variety on Chelmsford Street from 1993 to 2002.
Khamphanh was survived by Sengpheth Chittavong of Lowell; his niece, Phetmanysone ‘Dim’ Singhavong of Nashua, NH; and his grandnephew, Phommachak ‘Joey’ Singhavong of Nashua; and many family members in Laos.
On Thursday, May 12, 2022 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 3 - 6 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.
His funeral will begin on Friday, May 13, at 7 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by procession to Merrimack Cremation Service in Merrimack, NH.
