Obituary

Anna Gogos Trefon, a long-time Winchester resident, passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 96. She was the widow of Ralph Trefon, with whom she spent 64 happy years.
Anna is survived by her daughter Kathy LaPointe and her husband Steve, her son Ted Trefon as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the beloved “Nana” to Lauren O’Neill and her husband Alan, Alex LaPointe and his wife Marissa, Lea Trefon and Basil Trefon, Great Granny to Sean and Liam O’Neill, Brooks, Rosalie and Eliza LaPointe.
Anna was a devoted wife and mother, a local volunteer and world traveler who often reminisced about her visits to five continents. She was a fashionable dresser, cheerful, generous, a fabulous cook and baker, especially when it came to Greek cuisine. In years past she enjoyed Greek dancing with friends, cousins’ parties, driving her Delta 88 convertible and spending time at the beach.
Although she spent the final months of her life in a nursing center, she touched the lives of her caregivers, one of whom remarked, “The sun has set on your long life but shines brightly in the garden of our beautiful memories.”
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Visiting Hour at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester, on Friday, May 13th from 9:30-10:30AM, prior to a Funeral Service at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
