Obituary

APRIL 9, 1933 – DECEMBER 15, 2021

Richard “Dick” Morris of Biddeford, Maine passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021.

He was born in Rockland, ME to the late Cecil and Evelyn (Niles) Morris.

Richard grew up in Tenants Harbor, Maine and later moved to Woburn, MA. He was the husband of his loving predeceased wife Virginia (Whittier) whom passed away in October 2014. They enjoyed many years together and later they moved back to Warren & North Whitefield, ME where he built both of their homes.

Richard was a long time General Contractor owning his own businesses in Mass and Maine. He led by example with high standards and diligent work ethics. He set the standards of Excellence for all to follow in his footsteps.

He spent his life enjoying the outdoors in Maine and Gloucester, MA with his greatest passion in hunting and fishing and to his family and friends he was known as “Dead Eye”. He loved cooking lobsters, steamers and any meal made with venison for his family.

He had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up a room and welcomed all into his home and in his life at any time. He loved telling stories and teaching everyone about nature and the safety of hunting and fishing as well as how to live a strong life.

Richard is survived by his loving sisters, Shirly Robinson of Merrimack, NH; Dorothy and her husband, Frank Minghella of Woburn, MA; Joanne Morgan of Reading, MA; and was predeceased by Pauline Thomas of Warren, ME.

Along with his sisters, Richard leaves behind his beloved children, daughters, Patricia Cruickshank of Halifax, MA; Darlene and her husband, Nat Sergi of Tequesta, FL; Valerie Morris of Port St. Lucie, FL, Lisa and her husband, Bruce Carter of Springvale, ME; sons, Alan Whitter and his wife, Cheri of Seabrook, NH and, Robert Morris and his wife, Malissa of Billerica, MA, daughter-in-law, Sharon Morris of Dracut, MA. He was also the father of his predeceased son, Richard Morris of Dracut, MA and predeceased daughter, Susan Spinazola of Woburn, MA.

He also leaves behind his proud 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

He will be truly and deeply missed by all.

On Saturday, May 21, 2022 all are welcome to attend his committal service at 12 noon at Oakland Cemetery, 1463 Mammoth Road, Dracut, MA.
