WEBSTER – Carolyn J. (Bartholow) Morrison, 82, died Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Harrington Memorial Hospital after an illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 9 years, Carroll E. Morrison who died on January 11, 1969.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda Poletta and her husband Joseph of Bartlett, NH, Bonnie Morrison-Robbins and her husband Michael of Thompson, CT, and Sheila Sliwoski and her husband Jeffrey of Dayville, CT; 4 grandchildren, Stefanie Poletta, Joseph Poletta, IV, Michael Gagner and Jeremy Sliwoski; 7 great-grandchildren, Madison Brown, Caiden Spahl, Kyliegh Spahl, Joseph Poletta, V, Jace Poletta, Julian Poletta and Ellie Gagner; a sister, Kay Porter and her husband Ralph of Graniteville, South Carolina; a brother, George Bartholow and his wife Carol of Fairmont, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her two year old daughter, Sandra Renee Morrison, and by her twin brother Carroll Bartholow.
She was born in Fairmont, West Virgina, on April 2, 1940, a daughter of Adrian B. and Elouise (Lockhart) Bartholow. She was married on February 19, 1960 in Miami, FL where she started her family and was a caring mother and wife.
Carolyn was primarily a homemaker and also worked in her children's school cafeteria in Florida and at Hubbard Hospital when she relocated to Webster. She also worked at Gentex as a lens inspector for many years retiring due to illness in 2003.
She was an avid gardener whose flower beds were the delight of many who passed by them. She also enjoyed the art of embroidery and cooking holiday dinners for her family.
Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Webster.
The calling hours will be held Friday, May 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be held privately in Dade Memorial Cemetery, Miami, Florida. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to the Webster-Dudley Food Share, 4 Church Street, Webster, MA 01570.
