On April 28, 2022, Jean Dominique Gabriel a resident of Raynham MA, died at home with his loving family by his side at the age of 86. Born in Jacmel, Haiti, Dominique was the husband of Elvie (Dorceus) Gabriel, and the son of the late Dameus and Genelise (Gabriel Dauphin).
Dominique was a retired Landscaper for the U.S Embassy in Haiti for over forty-five years. When Dominique moved to the United States he lived with his daughter Julie Cesar, his wife Elvie Gabriel, and his two grandsons Rodney and Rodson Cesar in Belmont, MA.
He worked at Star Market in Belmont for five years. Dominique and his family would later relocate to Raynham, MA, where he worked for Shaw’s Supermarket in Raynham for almost ten years. Dominique officially retired after his tenure at Shaws Supermarket.
Dominique was a devoted father and grandfather, he was very loving of his family and friends. He valued education highly, Dominique made it a priority for all of his children to attend the top schools in Haiti and to prioritize their studies before all things.
Dominique was the father of Michelle Gabriel, Julie Cesar, Johnny Gabriel, Garry Gabriel, Stevenson Gabriel, Richard Gabriel, Ronald Gabriel, Patrick Alphonse, Mireille Gabriel Montes, and the late Marie Gabriel, Eric Gabriel and Guerda Gabriel.
Dominique was the grandfather of Rodney J. Cesar, Dominique R. Gabriel, Garry Jr. Gabriel, Rodson D. Cesar, Sasha P. Gabriel, Abigail M. Gabriel, Jahaida M. Gabriel, Morgan L. Gabriel, Lauren’s Panacci Alphonse, Naraya Chaida Lauryn AlphonseTheresa C. Gabriel, Maya A. Gabriel, and Richard Jr. Gabriel.
Dominique was the great grandfather of Eliyana J. Cesar and Isaiah M. Cesar.
Dominique was the brother of Mediton Dauphin, Mesalie Dalton, Cleremelic Dalton, Souvelie Dalton and the late Eliza Dauphin, Captain Dalton and Clarierozien Dalton.
The funeral will be serviced by the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home located at 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA on Saturday, May 7th at 8:00 a.m.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Church located at 660 N Main St. Raynham, MA at 9:00 a.m.
The wake will be held on Friday, May 6th at O’Keefe Funeral Home scheduled between the hours of 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Rd. Fall River, MA 02721. Unfortunately, the cemetery does not accept flowers, instead we encourage making a monetary donation to Saint-Gérard Majella, the church which Dominique attended in Haiti.
