Mabel Ann (Westgate) Swindell, 79, of Medway died May 1 at the Medway Country Manor following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William F. Swindell.
Born in Wareham, December 26,1942, the daughter of the late George and Nellie (Franklin ) Westgate, Mabel had lived in Wareham , Lawrence and Brockton prior to moving to Medway 15 years ago.
She had worked for the Marriott Hotel Corporation for many years.
Mabel enjoyed her country music as well as watching Jerry Springer and caring for her cats.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Canning and son-in-law James of Bellingham.
She was the sister of the late Paul E. Franklin, Roger A. Franklin, George Westgate, Chester M. Westgate, Richard L. Westgate, Carol L. Westgate, Mary J. King, Phyllis Russell, Stella Avery, Beverly Vaughn, Carol Beaudreau and June E. Westgate.
A celebration of her life will be in held on Monday, Mary 9 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway from 2:-4:00 p.m.
