Obituary

SOUTHAMPTON – Lynn Ann Smith of Southampton, MA passed away unexpectedly at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Lynn had a brief illness that her body just could not fight.

Lynn attended Northampton High School and graduated Class of 1981. She was an employee of the Northampton Housing authority for over 30 years. She worked for many years at Serio’s Pharmacy in Northampton and the Medicine Shoppe formerly in Florence. She was passionate about helping and caring for the elderly.

She is pre deceased by her father, Richard Smith of Holyoke, MA and her mother, Mary Smith of Northampton, MA. She is survived by her brother, Michael Smith and his wife, Penny Seaver. Her sisters, Kathy Smith and Diane Smith of Northampton, MA. Her sister Sharon and her husband, Matt Bonham of Seattle, WA. Her sister, Christie Smith and her husband Jeremy Costigan of Sunderland, MA. Her stepmother, Vivian Smith of Florence, MA. Her aunt, Ann Sullivan of West Springfield, MA. Her many nieces and nephews that she loved with her whole heart, Garrett Smith, Riley Robbins and her husband, Ben, Matthew Bean, Jason Bean, Patrick Smith and his wife Brittney, Jennifer Bean, Madison Bonham and Sydney Bonham. She is also survived by her grand nieces and nephew Declyn, Ava and Sutter.

Lynn greeted everyone with a warm smile and an open heart.
She loved without ever expecting anything back and believed the best in everyone. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and never missed a game. The biggest joy in her life was being with her family and sharing pictures of the family dogs with Channel 40 News Critter Corner. She loved Herrell’s ice cream and could often be found there picking up her faves. Life’s simple pleasures were her greatest joys.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held in the near future.
