Obituary

Robert V. Callahan, 97, of Franklin died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Countryside Health Care of Milford. He was the beloved husband of Nancy C. (Thunert) Callahan who died in 2016.

Born in Jamaica Plain on March 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Francis and Annie (Fox) Callahan.

Bob was a resident of Franklin since 1958. He grew up in Quincy and East Milton and proudly served in the Army during World War II.

Bob enjoyed bowling, watching Patriots and Red Sox Games, as well as spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Ann LaRosa and her husband Rob of Franklin and was predeceased by his daughter Beth Choquet.

He is also survived by his son-in-law Bruce Choquet of Bellingham, four grandchildren; Timothy LaRosa and his wife Elizabeth; Jeffrey LaRosa; Nicole Choquet and her partner Willy Lopez; Steven Choquet and his fiancé Lisa Mann and five great-grandchildren; Ezra and Cadence LaRosa and Mila, Liam and Julian Choquet.

Bob is also survived by his brother Joseph Callahan of Perry, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Frank, Rita and Paul Callahan and Irene Saddler.

Bob’s family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Health Care of Milford, Optimal Home Health Care of North Attleborough, Salmon VNA of Milford and Compassionate Care Hospice of Woburn for the care and comfort they gave to Bob.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
