Obituary

CORNISH- Joe Piccininni, age 75, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022 at his Hosac Mountain home in Cornish, Maine, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with Pompe disease, a form of muscular dystrophy.

He was born on September 28, 1946 to Joseph and Mary Piccininni.

He attended schools in the Greater Portland area. At 15 he moved to Deer Park, NY. He graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School in Huntington, New York and attended Suffolk Community College and Westbrook College, majoring in business.

He served in the Navy as a meteorologist from 1963 to 1966 and had a lifelong interest in the weather.


He was the owner of three successful businesses that served the southern Maine community: Peck’s Food Market, LST Landscaping, and Sacopee Valley Outfitters. He was a deacon at Limerick Free Baptist Church and was on the board of Ossipee Valley Christian School. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, shooting and mountain climbing.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Frank Peck. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife and high school sweetheart Betty of Cornish, who cared for him at home to the very end; his daughters Sharon Cardamone of Boston and Donna Piccininni of Standish; his three grandchildren, Tinamarie Webber of Madrid, Darren Webber II of Hiram, and Anthony Joseph Webber of Porter; and two great grandchildren, Zen Terra Fae, and Gabriel Orion of Hiram.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 5 from 1:00-1:30 PM at the Hilltop Baptist Church, School St., Cornish. A 1:30 funeral service will immediately follow at the church.
