Obituary

Steven M. DiPrima (Boston Police Department), a 26 year resident of East Boston and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a 5 year courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years of age.

Steven was born in Boston on March 15, 1961, a son of Priscilla R. (Flaherty) DiPrima and the late Santo S. DiPrima. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1979. He furthered his education and attended Northeastern University and the University of Southern New Hampshire. Steven worked in several civilian capacities for the Boston Police Department and as a Administrative Clerk following 28 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston. He enjoyed acting and was so very proud that he appeared in several small independent films and was always willing to belt out a song to whomever would listen to him. He enjoyed watching old movies and listening to 50's era music. Steven was well known for his great sense of humor and he enjoyed making people laugh and always knew that it was important for people look on the bright side of situations.

Steven is the beloved and loving husband of 25 years to Maria G. (D'Angelo) DiPrima. He is the beloved son of Priscilla R. (Flaherty) DiPrima and the late Santo S. DiPrima. He is the devoted brother of Joseph DiPrima, Charles DiPrima and his wife Nubia, Rita Gingras and her husband Albert, Lisa Sgrosso and her husband Joseph and the late Luci Ann DiPrima. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Angela Maniaci and her husband Vito, Fina Briguglio and her husband Joseph and Salvatore D'Angelo and his wife Diane. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Steven's Funeral on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial is private. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
