Obituary

Charles E. Seaman, 96, of Brookline died on April 26, 2022.
He was born in Rockland, ME on April 13, 1926 the son of the late Horace Smith Seaman and Madeline Louise (Wood) Seaman.
Charles was the beloved husband of the late Gina (Lichter) Seaman who died in January of 2004.
Loving father of James M. Seaman and his wife Barbara of Leawood, KS and Sandra M. Reynolds and her husband Albin L. of Fairbanks, AK. Also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three nieces. Brother of the late Richard and Herbie Seaman and Barbara Sidelinger.
Charles spent his formative years on Rockland, ME and has resided in Brookline for over 65 years. He served his country with honor and distinction during World War II as a T-Sergeant with the United States Army in the Pacific Theater with Battery C, 121st Field Artillery Battalion and fought valiantly in the Battle of Leyte and Luzon. He was awarded a Bronze Star during his service.
He graduated from Rockland High School and received his BS in Business and Accounting from Bentley College. Charles had a long career in the field of banking as a bank examiner for the United States Government and was the District Director of the Federal Home Loan Savings Banks of New England. Following his retirement, he volunteered at Recording for the Blind where he was acknowledged for over 30 years of service. He also tutored English and Spanish at Brookline High School and spent many years doing the accounting for the Brookline Men’s Club on Winchester Street, Brookline.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and always put the needs of others before himself.
Visitations will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30 am followed by his funeral service at 11:30 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Seaman family lot in Lakeview Cemetery Wayland.
