Obituary

CHARLTON - Debra J. “Deb” Ross, 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on April 29, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Dutile) Ross and the step-daughter of the late Mary Ross.

Deb is survived by her wife of 10 years, Joan M. Claprood of Charlton; her son, Christopher Ross and his partner Kathleen Cwenar of Nashua, NH; her daughter, Jennifer Marshall and her husband Lee of Londonderry, NH; and her grandsons, Alex and Jack Marshall of Londonderry; she is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Richard Ross and his partner Stephen Campbell of Kittery, ME, Paul Ross and his wife Cindy of Bow, NH, Scott Ross of Bow, NH, Julie Marston and her husband Kenneth of Hudson, NH, William Ross and his wife Catherine of New London, NH and Marie Nelson of Nashua, NH; She also leaves brothers-in-law, Donald Claprood and his wife Jean of Holden, Paul Claprood and his wife Dorothy of Shelby, NC, and Robert Therrien of North Palm Beach, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Deb graduated from Alvirne High School, class of 1968 in Hudson, NH. She worked most of her career in accounting and bookkeeping for several businesses most notably Granite State Packing Company in Manchester, NH, the former James Cowan & Sons in Worcester, and most recently at Lowell Auditorium in Lowell. She also ran a successful business for several years making her “Cottage Collection” pocketbooks and small luggage pieces that sold in various boutiques throughout New England. During her “retirement” and until the onset of her illness, Deb also assisted with bookkeeping and other administrative work for her daughter’s business Primitive Planters in Hudson, NH.

Deb enjoyed sewing and quilting, embroidery, playing cards, traveling, gardening, and boat rides on South Charlton Reservoir. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
Deb’s creativity and love for gardening produced magazine-worthy yard displays for all to enjoy at the many gatherings and parties hosted by Joan and Deb.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua, NH. A calling period will be held in the church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
