Obituary


Raymond J. “Ray” Wolinski, age 69, of Woburn, passed away on Tuesday, April 26th, at the Winchester Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Kelley) Wolinski to whom he shared 44 loving years of marriage. Born in Trenton, NJ on February 17th, 1953, he was the cherished son of the late Joseph A. and Anne M. (Cebulski) Wolinski.

Ray attended Hope Valley Central High School in Pennington, NJ, and attended Berkley College of Music in Boston, MA. Ray had a long career in the hospitality industry. He worked at various major hotels in Boston, including the Hyatt Regency Hotel where he was the Purchasing Director, up to his retirement in February 2012. Ray enjoyed bass fishing, hunting and trap shooting. Ray will be fondly remembered for his colorful personality.

In addition to his loving wife Kathy Ray leaves behind his dear sister Mary Ellen Solomon and her late husband Thomas. He was the caring uncle of Brian Solomon and his wife Sara of Orefield PA, Gregory Solomon and his wife Ann Sofie of Lulea, Sweden, Richard Solomon and his wife Lauren of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Kristen Polash and her husband Tom of Lancaster, PA, AJ Wolanian and his wife Marie, of Virginia Beach, VA and 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces.

Ray’s funeral will be from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, Woburn on Monday, May 2nd at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday May 1st, from 4 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Raymond’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Sixth Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
