Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Ann Eleanor "Annie" Stasiowski, 50, of the Atwater Park section of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at home. She was born in Springfield on August 12, 1971, a beloved daughter of Richard A. and Margaret M. (Harris) Stasiowski of Springfield. Her family moved to Atwater Park where Annie put down roots. Following her siblings, she graduated from Saint Stanislaus School in Chicopee and Cathedral High School in Springfield. For several years, she was a member of the Springfield Aqualinas, a synchronized swimming club, where she enjoyed the discipline required to perform in shows locally and compete in national events. She spent a summer session immersed in Spanish at an international school in Malaga, Spain and a year as an exchange student living with a family in Gijon, Spain. She loved everything Spanish. At home, she loved her German Shepherd Blizen and later her special pride, her horse Vanity who recently passed of old age. She understood and loved working with animals. She was an accomplished ballroom dancing instructor who rejoiced as students mastered new steps and routines. It was an unexpected shock when Annie developed Type 1 Diabetes and became insulin dependent. She was dealing with her insulin issues when the Covid pandemic struck and she lost her job as a Rental Car Agent at Avis Budget Car Rental in Windsor Locks, CT. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. In addition to her parents, she leaves her loving sister, Catherine Gorter; her loving brother and sister in law, Robert Gorter and his wife, Lauren; her four dear uncles and her dear aunt, Ronald, Robert, John and Michael Stasiowski and his wife, Francine; and her dear aunt, Teresa Harris. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Gorter who died in 2010; and her dear aunt, Patricia Stasiowski. Her Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr, 570 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
