Hagop Markarian passed away peacefully on Sunday April 24,2022 at the age of 82. He was a great man that loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 yrs. He is also survived by his 3 sisters: Angela, Anna, and Sirvart, as well as his grandchildren (from predeceased son James) Erica and Andrew and Haigaz and Cindy’s daughter Lucine.

Hagop was born in Antelias, Lebanon on November 14, 1939, to Lusentak and Kaperial Markarian. As a family they moved to Dilijian, Armenia in 1947, where he grew up and went to school. Soon after, he moved to Yerevan and started work as a machinist. He was a jack- of- all trades and loved working with his hands and was very crafty. In 1978, he met and married the love of his life; Araxice and by 1979 had moved to America. In Lynn, Mass is where he settled and started a family. Hagop worked hard and did everything he needed to support his family. After working at Eastern Tools and Stamping Company for 15 years, he went on to retire in 2002.

After retiring, he had time for several hobbies. Hagop enjoyed making his own vodka, preparing delicious preserves, and gardening. He loved getaways to his mountain home in New Hampshire and occasional trips to the casinos. He even learned how to use a tablet at the age of 75. Hagop’s newest joy in life was his granddaughter; Lucine, playing with her and teaching her mischievous things.
Our dad was a simple man. He Loved Life, loved to laugh, loved to learn and teach others. As young kids we learned how to hammer nails, to dig holes, to work on a cars, and everything in between. He was a great dad and will be missed by everyone that has crossed paths with him. Most of all he was a kind man.
