Limington - Austin Leroy Gammon died at his home on April 21, 2022 after a long battle with health issues. He was born in Limerick on March 30, 1944 a son of Percy A. and Eva M. (Ham) Gammon and was educated in Limington schools.
Austin worked hard his whole life. He worked for the Sanford Woolen Mill, Waterboro Tannery, Southern Maine Finishing in Waterboro and Wood Structures in Saco. He also owned and operated A.L.Gammon Trash Removal for many years.
His hobbies included gardening, fishing and doing many projects around his home. He did a lot of farming and haying over the years. He truly enjoyed camping, especially at Hiawatha Campground near the river in Hiram. He loved his family and last but not least, he loved his dog "snoopy" and his cat "tigger".
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Emelene Harmon, and his brother, Elmer Gammon. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Gauthier Gammon of Limington, five children: Jean Simpson and husband Mark of Ossipee, NH., Terry Gammon and wife Robin of Limerick, Patty Nolette and husband David of Sanford, Scott Gammon of Sanford and Jen Pitts and husband Matthew of Limerick. Four stepchildren: Fred Spaulding of Springvale, Brian Spaulding and significant other Angie Webber of Sanford, Christopher Gauthier of Alfred, and Lisa Harrison and husband Pete of Sanford. Grandchildren: Eva Simpson, Brandy Gammon, Benjamin Gammon, Maisie Pitts, Zachary Spaulding, Shawn Therianos, Devon Spaulding, Fauna Spaulding, Dalton Spaulding, Christopher Gauthier Jr., Taylor Gauthier, Adrianna Gauthier and Andrew Harrison. A great granddaughter, Amelia Gammon, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
