Marguerite I. "Peg" (Donahue) Mahoney, 82, of New Bedford died May 3, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. "Pat" Mahoney, III.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (French) Donahue, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Dartmouth.
Mrs. Mahoney was formerly employed by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as an inspector for many years until her retirement in 1978. She was a charter member and past secretary of Goodyear Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Mahoney was a member of the A.A.R.P., St. Jude's Partners of Hope, and contributed to many charities.
Survivors include 6 nieces, Kathleen Donahue-Santos, and her husband Raymond, Carole Cardoza, and her husband Donald, and Sharon Donahue, all of Dartmouth, Patricia Farrell, and her husband Robert, of Barnstable, Carol Luciardi, and her husband James, of Methuen and Maureen Maher, and her husband John, of San Anselmo, CA; 2 nephews, Mark M. Mahoney of New Bedford and Michael Weber, and his wife Eileen, of East Sandwich; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Patricia Mahoney of New Bedford; several great-nieces and nephews; and several godchildren.
She was the sister of the late William Leo Donahue, Jr. and Eileen Eldridge.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday, May 8th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Sunday, May 7th from 4-7 PM.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
