Obituary

Kurt Michael Santos, 33, of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Lowell. He was the beloved son of Kenneth M. Santos and Manuela (Bettencourt) Santos of Tewksbury.
He was born December 7, 1988, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in Tewksbury, graduating from Shawsheen Technical High School, Class of 2007. While in High School, he played football until an injury stopped his football career. He then studied computer engineering at Middlesex Community College. From a young age and continuing as an adult, he worked at the family business, Rex Liquors in Lowell. In addition, he currently worked as a project manager for Control Air Systems where he had worked for more than 7 years.
Kurt loved riding his motorcycle and was a dedicated Harry Potter fan. He also enjoyed reading, playing the drums, and playing video games. Above all else, his family was his world, especially his sister, Celina. He adored all of his family and all of his friends and will be missed by many for his wonderful sense of humor
In addition to his devoted parents, Manuela and Kenny, he is survived by his dear sister, Celina Szmyt and her husband, Alan, of Tewksbury; his grandmothers, Noemia M. Santos of Lowell and Maria I. Bettencourt of Peabody; his aunts and uncles, Carlos Santos and his wife, Maria G., of Hudson, NH and Dolores Lopes and her husband, Frank, of Chelmsford, and Joseph Bettencourt of Peabody and several cousins and many friends.
You are invited to his calling hours from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 25. On Tuesday, April 26, his funeral will begin at 9 a.m. at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. His funeral mass will be offered at St. Anthony Church, 893 Central Street, Lowell at 10 a.m.. A procession will follow for his burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
