Penta, Pasquale "Patsy" -- Age 87, of Medford, formerly of East Boston and Atripalda, Italy, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after several years of battling cancer. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Assunta (Melillo) Penta.
Devoted father of Anthony "Tony" Penta and his wife Laurie of Medford, Salvatore "Sal" Penta and his loving companion Jennifer Harris of Camarillo, CA, and Pasquale "Pat" Penta and his wife Cheryl of Mansfield. Loving Nonno of Austin and Zachary Penta of Mansfield, Jacob and Tristan Penta, and their mother Cindy Penta (Laser) of Camarillo, CA, and Lauryn and Kayleigh Penta of Medford.
Pasquale was predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Assunta Penta and his in-laws, Salvatore and Luisa Melillo, who he cared for greatly. He is survived and adored by his siblings Carmela Peroni, Elena Sarno, Sessina Mele and Giuseppe "Joe" Penta. Caring brother-in-law of Arturo Mele, Silvio Melillo and his wife Anna, Thomas Melillo and his wife Maria, Elio Melillo and his wife Carmela, and Remo Melillo and his wife Elena. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born in Atripalda, Italy, he would have celebrated his 88th birthday on May 22nd. He immigrated to the United States in 1961, gaining his United States citizenship in 1966. Pasquale worked for the Charlestown Naval Yard for many years. He was a resident of Medford for the past 48 years and a communicant of St. Francis Of Assisi Church. He cherished his Italian heritage and took great pride in his United States citizenship. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, raising his chickens, making wine, spending time with his family and socializing with many friends over an espresso at the cafe. He had a zest for life and a generous spirit.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Sunday, April 24th from 3 to 7 PM at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD. Funeral services Monday, April 25th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Funeral services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
