Alice (King) Valentine, a resident of Medford for the last 50 years, passed away on Thursday, April 14th. She was 86. Born and in Chelsea and raised in Medford, she was the cherished daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Menzies) King.
A natural people person, Alice loved everyone, and they loved her. No matter where or when you met Alice you were instantly connected. She was everyone’s adopted other mother, confidant and best friend. Her sense of humor, caring personality, and her ability to help anyone made her one of a kind. Alice was a sentimental woman, especially when it came to any trinket, project or ornament that her children made. She would frequently take them out and share the stories of when, where and how they were made.
Alice’s biggest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her husband, her nine children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice’s family were her pride and joy, they were her world. She was a dedicated wife, the best mom, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed by all.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. “Chuck” Valentine, Sr. She was the devoted mother of Barbara Jean Callaway and her late husband Dwaine, Thomas Valentine and his wife Debbie, Edward Valentine and his wife Cheryl, Sharon Martin and her husband Jeffery, Dennie Valentine and his wife Elizabeth, Cynthia Valentine, Charles Valentine, Jr. and his wife Babette, Raymond Valentine, and the late Donna Valentine, and her surviving husband Kenneth Blystone. She was the loving Nana of 22 grandchildren including the late Michael Callaway and Thomas Valentine, and Thomas’s surviving mother Debbie. Alice was the great-nana of 21, and one more on the way. She leaves behind her precious Chihuahua Peanut and is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Sunday, April 24th at 3 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 12 to 3 PM. Interment will be private.
