Santo Joseph Sturzo, 88 of Wilmington passed away with his family by his side at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was the husband of Mary Christine (Lazzara) Sturzo, whom he married in 1960, sharing 62 years together.
He was born in Somerville on October 22, 1933 and was a son of the late Joseph Sturzo and wife the late Josephine (Patti) Sturzo. He was raised in Somerville, where he graduated from Somerville High School. After high school he enlisted is the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years.
Santo was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, as well as his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mary Sturzo of Wilmington, he is survived by his sons, Mark Sturzo and his wife, Rebecca of Litchfield, NH, Christian Sturzo and his wife, Stephanie of Epping, NH, and Joseph Sturzo and his wife, Maureen of Lowell MA; and his eight grandchildren, Nicholas Sturzo, Amilia Sturzo, Anthony Sturzo, Patrick Sturzo, Sara Dunleava, Casey Skillings, Samantha Sturzo & Joseph Sturzo; and 1 great granddaughter, Braylee Dunlap-Sturzo.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Frances Orrino of Merrimack, MA, Andrea Lazzara of Wakefield, MA, and Lana Testa and her husband, Ronald of Westbrook, ME.
He was brother of the late, Mary Ann Langone.
