
Winona *Noni* Marie Parker, 84 Ventura
Our beloved Winona *Noni* Marie Parker passed away in her home of 55 years on March 17, 2022, after a valiant 14-year fight with Parkinson's disease. Her family was at her side in Ventura, CA.
Noni was born on November 4, 1937, in Olney, Illinois, on the family farm to D. Earl Barnes and Bernice Barnes. Noni the 6th of 9 children,
Graduated from Urbana High School, Urbana Illinois, in 1955.
After moving to California in 1963, Noni worked in the Jewelry industry most of her life, sharing ownership of "J.B. Miller Jeweler's Service" of Ventura.
In 1981, Noni graduated from the Gemological Institute of America, where she earned her degree as a Graduate Gemologist. She went on to manage Bond's Jewelers in Oxnard, finishing her career at George Thompson Diamond Co. in Camarillo.
In 1981, Noni met the love of her life, Charles Parker. They were married in 1988 and had the time of their lives together. Traveling to every state west of the Mississippi River. Spending weeks at a time visiting family in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Charlie's home state of Arkansas.
Noni enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and to the Palm Springs area with friends where she loved the slot machines, winning more times than not.
Noni treasured their time riding on their Harley taking day trips, overnighters, camping, riding in groups, or with just friends; they always had a great time. Noni's favorite were trips with just the two of them destinations unknown.
Noni is survived by her Husband Charles Parker of Ventura, CA, son Mitchell Miller of Port Hueneme, CA, daughter Laura Miller Kirksey of Oak View, CA, Grandson Kristopher Kirksey (wife Natosha), Great grandchildren Kloie, Kali, Konnor & Kody of Wister, Oklahoma, Stepson Cory Parker (wife Heather) and Granddaughter Charli of Huntington Beach, CA.
Her siblings, Donald, Walter, Wanda, Sheryl, and their families with numerous nieces, nephews she adored.
Preceeded in death by her parents D. Earl & Bernice Barnes, her siblings Clyde, Norville, Mary Ann, and Evelyn.
In-laws Charles and Martha Parker. May they rest in peace.
Noni requested that there not be a service for her.
