Dorothy (Beatrice) “Dolly” Marra, age 98, of Malden, formerly of East Boston, passed away on April 11, 2022.
Born, raised and educated in Orient Heights, East Boston, and a proud graduate of Boston University, she was one of five children of the late Pietro and Maria (Sacco) Beatrice. A homemaker, she was devoted to her family. In her spare time, Dolly loved to volunteer, and her friendly and outgoing personality served her well while giving her time to St. Anthony’s Church in Everett, where she was a faithful parishioner, Salem Hospital, and the former Lynn-Union Hospital. Her twin granddaughters Marie and Jennifer Marra fondly remembered her affinity for candy and pizza, and the importance of her Catholic faith throughout her life.
Dolly is lovingly survived by her daughters, Jane Marra of Peabody, Dorothy Doucette and her late husband Richard, of Everett. She was predeceased by siblings Joseph, Peter and Michael Beatrice and Mary Goins. She was the devoted “Meme” to her “favorite people in the world”, her twins, Marie and Jennifer Marra.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
