Obituary

Kathleen A. "Kathy" (Myers) Burke, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at her home in Charlestown. She was 77 years of age.

Kathy was born in Boston on July 18, 1944, a daughter of the late Henry Myers and Alice (Davis) Myers. She grew up in the Somerville/Medford area where she was also educated. Kathy was a devoted Child Care Provider which she enjoyed immensely for many years even while bringing up her own 6 children. She also worked of UNISYS Corp. in Somerville and the Wang Theater in Boston. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with her many friends at The Golden Age Center in Charlestown. Family was paramount in Kathy's life and she enjoyed every minute of every day spending time with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren who she was so proud of each one of their accomplishments.

Kathy is the beloved wife of 56 years to William E. "Bill" Burke. She is the devoted mother of Colleen Cadger and her companion Will Irizarry, Timothy Burke and his wife Sharon Whitt, Susan Zimmerle and her companion Bobby Monzione, Kellie Burke, Katie Burke and the late William E. "Bill" Burke Jr. She is the loving Nana to Eryn, Anthony, David Jr., Niccilina, Dylan, Daryn, Molly, Krystal, Mark Jr., Jared, Hayleigh, Ryllie, Jaiden, Peyton and GiGi to Izzie and Nayomi. She is the dear sister-in-law of Steve Burke and his wife Beatrice. She is the beloved sister of the late Buddy Myers, Paula Huey, Helen Mangan, Barbara Shea, Philip Myers and Raymond Myers. She is the loving aunt to Sheila Mason and her many other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathy's Funeral on Wednesday morning, APRIL 20, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10:30 A.M. Her burial is private. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, APRIL 19, 2022 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
