Obituary

Mr. Anthony J. Fuccillo, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Rose E. (Farina) Fuccillo, passed away at the Elmhurst Nursing Ceneter in Wakefield on Wednesday afternoon, April 6, 2022. He was 99 years old.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Carmine and Maria (Rizzo) Fuccillo. Anthony was a WWII Army veteran, entering the military on March 24, 1943 and receiving his Honorary Discharge from Ft. Devens on January 5, 1946. He attained the rank of T5 and was a Combat and Expert Infantryman and Marksman. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Purple Heart, City of Colmar Letter, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal for his exemplary service. Anthony was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He was employed as Piano Teacher for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing his piano, all types of music and routing for the Red Sox. He will be dearly missed.

Anthony is survived by his loving sons; Raymond A. Fuccillo and his partner Elizabeth Grasso of Medford an Gregory P. Fuccillo of Boston and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home,29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Saturday, prior to the service, from 9 to 11 AM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Street, Waltham, MA 02451.
