Obituary




Camille De George, 71 of Malden, MA, formerly of Medford, passed away on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was born in Somerville, to Vincent and Carmella De George. She was the beloved sister of Natalie and Manny Camelo of Milford, NH, Phyllis and Donald MacDonald of Billerica, MA and Marie and Donald Devereaux of Reading, MA. She was also the beloved aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was also the friend of her roommate Mary Dulong. They had been roommates for 20 plus years and loved each other deeply.

Camille was born in Somerville, raised in Medford, but lived most of her life in Malden. She was one of the original clients at Project Triangle in Malden, MA. She was very active in her life with them and had many friends and associates.

She was also very active with the Malden Cooperative for Human Services. She participated in many activities with them and they helped her with appointments, daily routines, concerns, workshops and other aspects of her daily life.

Camille had the opportunity to work with many associates there, but the family is extremely thankful for the outstanding dedication, friendship, support and love of Cathy Ferragamo, Shelly Lipscomb and Mark Huntington. She loved you all.

During her last couple of years her health was declining due to the nature of her heart conditions. She was courageous, upbeat, positive-thinking, smiling, happy person in spite of this. She loved life. She loved music, especially the 50’s oldies. She loved to dance and sing. She participated in many activities such as bowling, cooking, and arts and crafts. She even did some public speaking. She worked at Project Triangle as part of their workshop and had many friends and associates.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Camille’s family on Friday, April 8th, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a celebration of life in the funeral home at 1 PM. Camille will be cremated. Her burial will be private and she will have her final rest and peace in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, with her mother Carmella and father Vincent and her Aunt Virginia. Camille will be truly missed.
