Obituary

WORCESTER___Rose E. Boris, 96, of Worcester, died Sunday April 30 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St.

She leaves a nephew, Edward Widun, Sr., and his wife Helen of Mt. Laurel, NJ, a grand nephew, Edward Widun, Jr., and his wife Kristin and their daughter, a great grand niece, Elizabeth Victoria Xiu. She also leaves Josephine Widun, widow of Rose’s nephew Vincent Widun, Jr., a grand niece, Lynn Mitchell and several great grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a grand niece, Lorraine Houle and by a brother and two sisters, Bernard J. Boris, Ann Boris and Beatrice Widun. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of John J. and Hedwig (Yeskis) Boris and has lived here all her life.

Miss Boris was an account payable supervisor many years for Riley Stoker Co., and retired many years ago. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Vilna Church and the Legion of Mary. Rose enjoyed bowling and bowled until the age of 91. She was a skilled quilter and made many quilts donating some for auctions and raffles. Rose graduated from a Worcester high school and enjoyed watching sports.

The funeral will be held on Friday May 5 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday May 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday May 5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Rose may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
