Obituary

Albert B. Burbank Sr., 84, of Middletown, formerly of Forest Avenue, Mystic, passed away Monday evening at Middlesex Hospice in Middletown.

Mr. Burbank was born in Somers, CT on May 19, 1921 the son of William and Maude Burbank. He was the husband of the late Margaret R. (Gemme) Burbank with whom he celebrated almost 64 years of marriage prior to Mrs. Burbank’s death on July 28, 2005.

Prior to his retirement in the mid 80’s, Mr. Burbank was employed for 43 years as a Senior Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Groton Highway Department.

Known as a devoted family man, he was most happy when he was able to do for others.

He was an avid camper, and was a member of the Old Mystic Baptist Church.

He is survived his son, Al Burbank Jr. and his wife Antoinette of Middletown; three grandchildren, Lance, Melissa, and Jacob Burbank; 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 5-6:45pm. A Service will immediately follow at 7pm with the Rev. Mark Porizky of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Groton officiating.

Members of the "Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club" as well as all fellow bikers are requested to use the reserved parking section located at the front entrance of the funeral home. Parking attendents will be on duty for assistance.

Following cremation, Al will be buried asidehis wife in the Old Mystic Baptist Church Memorial Garden, Shewville Road, Old Mystic.
