Michael S. Szymanski, a life-long Medford resident died, suddenly, Monday, at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 59.
Born and raised in Medford, Michael served with the Army in Vietnam. After his war service he became an optician and worked with Pro-Optical in Boston.
He was a devoted father to Michael Szymanski and his wife Erika of Milton and Lori Janvrin of Saugus. He was a loving grandfather to Taylor, Emily, Nicholas and Gabriella. He was the beloved son of Elena (DePrizio) and the late Stanley Szymanski. He was a dear brother to Carol Moretti of Medford and uncle to Richard Moretti of Medford. Michael was the former husband of Lillian Szymanski.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
