WEBSTER – Wanda C. (Sroka) Poblocki, 99, died Friday, March 25, 2022 in Matulaitus Nursing Home in Putnam after an illness, she was one and a half months shy of her one hundredth birthday. Her husband of 67 years, Francis E. Poblocki died in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Racicot of Florida, her son, John Poblocki and his wife Maria of New York City, and her son, Michael Poblocki and his wife Anne Marie of Thompson, CT; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her siblings Peter, Joseph, Walter, Edward, Lena, Bertha, Cora and Anne.
She was born on May 2, 1922 in Northampton, a daughter of John and Julia (Kapinos) Sroka. She was a 1941 graduate of Bartlett High School and attended Becker Junior College. She worked in the banking business for 35 years including Webster National Bank, Worcester County National Bank and Guaranty Bank retiring in 1984 as a loan officer. In retirement she spent winters with her husband in Vero Beach, Florida and traveled extensively to nearly every state in America and several countries in Europe.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and a charter member and first treasurer of the Saint Joseph Polish Women’s Club, she was also a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
She was a warm and loving mother and grandmother treasuring the time she spent with her family. She loved gardening, played the organ and was an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the University of Alabama Football Team. She read a book a week and watched “Jeopardy and “Wheel of Fortune” every night.

Her funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 30 at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street (please meet at church). Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The family kindly requests that flowers be omitted and donations in her memory be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
