Obituary

Melvin Heisser of Ledyard, Connecticut departed this life peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2006. He is now in the presence of the Lord and reunited with his wife Dessie R. Heisser.

Born September 5, 1921 in Madisonville LA, the son of the late Theodore Charles and Chaney Weeden Heisser, Melvin proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and remained a civil servant at the U.S. Navy Base in Groton Connecticut until his retirement in 1978. His total years of service span a period of over thirty years. He possessed a passion for life and a great knowledge of nature. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be fondly remembered for his culinary skills, hosting and entertaining family and friends. We will remember the good years of laughter and merriment.

Frame, son in law Keith, and two grandchildren Amanda and Alexis all of Bolton, Connecticut; a sister, Mamie Heisser Barze of Baton Rouge, LA; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers Ellis and Robert Heisser and a sister Aline Heisser Robinson.

The family would like to express a special thanks for all the prayers, support and care given.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers organization of choice.
