Veronica (Fernandez) Santo Domingo 71, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Wednesday March 23, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Venancio "Benzy" Santo Domingo, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.
Born April 24, 1950, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Gabriel Fernandez and Maria Teresa Rodriguez, she was a former resident of Brooklyn, New York, Connecticut and Medway until moving to Franklin in 1988.
She was raised and educated in New York and received a bachelors degree from Richmond College in Staten Island.
Veronica worked as a medical technologist for Ciba Corning in Walpole.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, praying at the Fatima Shrine, was an avid glass collector and was devoted to her dogs.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children, Venancio “BJ” Santo Domingo, Jr. of Franklin and Victoria Ellemingo and her spouse Alicia of Warwick, Rhode Island.
Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Arianna Santo Domingo, Antonio Santo Domingo and Oakley Ellemingo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Wednesday March 30th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9-10:30AM.
A funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square Franklin at 11AM.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
