SWANSEA… David Rodrigues, 81, of Swansea, MA, formerly of Swanzey, NH, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Linda J. (Sherman) Rodrigues of Swansea to whom he had been married for the past 62 years. Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Americo J. and Mary (Gouveia) Rodrigues.
Mr. Rodrigues had been the Owner of the former Dave & Son’s Reconditioning for many years. Like most, he went on to work several “retirement jobs” before officially retiring in 2020 at the age of 79. For many years he had worked as a salesman and could sell anything to anyone. A skill he enjoyed. In his later years, he was an avid patron of flea markets and craft shows, assisting his wife with preparations and selling items. At home, he could be found in his garden, tending to his plants. He also enjoyed traveling and family vacations. Although he was a man of many interests, nothing was placed above the love he had for his family, especially his granddaughters. They were his pride and joy.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Jody Duhaime and her husband Mark of Swansea, Toby David Rodrigues of Keene, NH, and Lannie William Rodrigues of Attleboro; his granddaughters: Nicole Duhaime of Swansea and Katelynn Rodrigues and her companion Matthew Kollett of Woonsocket, RI; his sister Natalie Pinault of Cumberland, RI; his brother Americo “Jim” Rodrigues of North Smithfield, RI; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Brad Winslow Rodrigues and brother of the late Sarah Gosselin, Dorothy Silveira and Christine Rezendes.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:30PM to 4:30 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723. Cremation will follow.
