John W. Puckett, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, March 21, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Puckett was born November 21, 1961, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Joseph “Joe” & Edna Jack Portier Puckett. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1979 and attended ABAC. He worked in production for Deep South and was an announcer for WBHB. More recently he hosted the Sunday Morning Southern Gospel Show on WKZZ. Mr. Puckett was a member of Open Gates Ministry and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marsha Griffin Puckett of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Amanda Puckett Hodges & K.C. of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren: Tyler, Ethan and Hadlee and an aunt & uncle, Bill & Patricia Portier of Orlando, Florida. Several cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Puckett.
