New Bedford, MA. - Jose Cabral, aged 85 years, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. Mr. Cabral was the husband of Lucilda (Amaro) Cabral of New Bedford MA. He was the father Yvonne C. wife of Victor M. Lopes of Newark, NJ, Eugene Cabral of New Bedford. He was the grandfather of Jack Lopes, Victoria Lopes, Melissa Ann Cabral and David A. Cabral. Mr. Cabral was the brother of Joao Rosa DaCosta and Madalena Cabral both of Portugal. He also had several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cabral was born in Sao Paio, Gouveia, Portugal. He was the son of the late Justino and Palmeira (Rosa) Cabral. He lived in this area since 1966. Mr. Cabral was an Battery Hand at the Berkshire-Hathaway Mills.
Mr. Cabral's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 3, 2006 6-9 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA.
