Obituary

of Whitman

WHITMAN – Jennie (Baldini) Casoni, 93, of Whitman died Sunday in Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late A. “Skiddy” Casoni, to whom she was married for 65 years.
Born July 7, 1912, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Angelo and Clothilde (Raymondi) Baldini, she grew up in Roslindale, and graduated from Hyde Park High School and Wilfred Academy.
Mrs. Casoni worked for many years before her marriage at the Hyatt Regency in Boston as a hairdresser, and as baker in the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Cafeteria in the 1960’s and 70’s.
She was a Cub and Boy Scout Leader for over 15 years, and a member of the Girl Scouts of America for 20 years. She was a past member of Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, and Whitman Mothers’ Club, and an officer of Whitman PTA. With her beloved husband, Skiddy, she enjoyed meeting and traveling with the Whitman Senior Citizens and Hanson Steppers. She received an award as Miss Congeniality in the Whitman Senior Sweetheart Pageant. Mrs. Casoni enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as cooking.
She is survived by her children, Richard Casoni and David Casoni, both of Plymouth, and Louise Casoni Tingblad of Whitman, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her sister Angelina Trevisani of Roslindale, and sister-in-law Irene Baldini of Norwood. She was the sister of the late Mary Illari, Virginia Luvisi, Joseph Baldini, and Annie Marinelli.
Visiting hours are Thursday May 4th, 2to4 and 6to8. Funeral Mass will be Friday May 5th at 9:00am in the Holy Ghost Church on School Street in Whitman.
