Mrs. Carol Sharpton, a longtime resident of West Medford and beloved wife of the late Conrad Samuel Sharpton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday evening, March 19, 2022. She was 91 years old.
Carol was born in New York, raised in Cambridge, MA and settled in W. Medford, MA where she and her late husband raised their family. She received her Master’s Degree from Northeastern University. She retired from Boston Water & Sewer after serving many years as a Corporate Civil Rights officer. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed bowling, having game nights with her friends and vacationing on Martha's Vineyard. She loved to go fishing. She was very creative and enjoyed many forms of art including painting and flower arranging which she made a business. She was an active member of the West Medford Community Center and Medford Public School System. Above all, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Carol is survived by her loving children; David C. and his wife Julie Sharpton of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Jocelyn C. and her husband Edward L. Francis of Medford, grandchildren; Dasaun, Dana, Jr., Carolyn and her husband Jovan Tonevski, Sara and her husband Joe Whitten, David Jr. and his wife Jackie, and Cameron. Also her great-grandchildren; Jenelle, Ben, Stella, Mia, Aiden, Hanna, James and Addie, as well as four nieces Dorka Ash-Shakoor, Renee Grimes, Danice Grimes, and Paulette Best.
Her Funeral service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the service, from 10:30 to 11 AM. Interment will be privately held.
