Webster
Romuald J.”Ray” Kokernak 92, passed away March 18, 2022.
He was born in Webster April 25, 1929 a son of Romuald and Stasia Kokernak, Sr.
He is survived by the love of his wife and married for almost 51 years Peggy, who will forever miss him, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Tina Para and husband Richard, Terry LeFrancois and her husband Mark, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his brother Ronald L. Kokernak and his wife Joan, his three nephews as well as a great nephew. He was also predeceased by one nephew.
Ray proudly served his country in the Occupational Forces in Japan, 1946-1948. He also served in the Air Force Reserve from 1952-1956.
He served on the Town of Webster Zoning Board, was a member of the Elks and the Polish American Veterans.
Ray was a master mechanic and the proprietor of YD Motor Service for over 50 years.
Ray had a love for planes and all things that flew. He was a gifted pilot for 55 years. He and Peggy flew many places together in their plane. He loved to square dance and they both were avid square dancers for 20 years. He loved to travel the world and explore new places and also loved hiking in the South West in all the national parks.
There are no calling hours and the Memorial Mass will be private at St. Louis Church, Lake St., Webster.
