
James M. Petitjean, 62, of New Bedford died March 16, 2022 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late George J. and Adrienne F. (St. Martin) Petitjean, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed by T. LeBlanc Floor Company for over 30 years.
He served one term as president of the former Sixth Bristol Club. He was an avid Boston sports fan, enjoying many games with friends. He was also a fantastic cook making the best prime rib in town along with his famous clam boils and cookouts.
Survivors include his significant other, Donna M. Pollitt, Kevin and Karrie Fernandes, whom he loved as his own, all of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Robert Petitjean and his wife Rita and Charles Petitjean, all of New Bedford and Stephen Petitjean and his partner John Teixeira of Dartmouth; 2 nieces, Erin Allen and her husband Ben of Assonet and Tracey Goodwin and her husband Scott of Stoughton; 4 great-nieces and nephews, Aidan Allen, Dylan Allen, Mia Goodwin and Lily Goodwin. He was the brother of the late Donna Petitjean.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dias and the entire staff of Feldberg 7 for their love, dedication and compassion for Jimmy throughout this long journey. Their support meant everything to us all.
